PS5 touchpad mapping

The P5Mate works well for using different controllers on the PS5, but there is one problem.

Using the 20240531 firmware, the DualSense touchpad click is mapped to the P5Mate button. However, the touchpad click is used in many games, and is needed frequently. Also, it is impossible to press the P5Mate button if you are not sitting next to the device.

Could you update the mapping like this?

Back/View button = Touchpad click
P5Mate button = Share button


Also, there are other controllers like the 8BitDo Ultimate, that have an unused face button. The Touchpad click could be mapped to the unused button too.

for xbox controller, you can use it's pair button

One more option for XBOX button I think should be "SHARE", it's a small new button between "VIEW" and "MENU", it was introduced in xbox series x/s and was not present in xbox one, so it's possible to reassign buttons, for example, like this:

1. CREATE=SHARE
   
2. TOUCHPAD_CLICK=VIEW

But this must not add any input lag
And for now, and maybe it will be enough for most customers, switch "PAIR" and "VIEW" buttons, so "VIEW" is always a touchpad click and "PAIR" simulates "CREATE" on dualsense
It seems, touchpad click is used way more often than sharing a content
and for xbox series x/s controller, "SHARE" button can also simulate "CREATE" (a duplicate of "PAIR" button)

Ho avuto la stessa esperienza con il mio P5Mate e all’inizio mi stava davvero creando problemi durante le sessioni di gioco. Poi, navigando in un forum dedicato, ho scoperto winaura e ho deciso di leggere alcune guide su come ottimizzare i controller in Italia. Ho seguito alcuni suggerimenti e, dopo qualche tentativo fallito, sono riuscito a rimappare i pulsanti in modo più funzionale per le mie sessioni. Ora usare il touchpad e il P5Mate è molto più comodo e intuitivo.

P5Mate fungerer generelt veldig bra for å bruke ulike kontrollere på PS5, men jeg har også lagt merke til et problem med knappemappingen.

Med firmware 20240531 er klikk på DualSense-touchpaden mappet til P5Mate-knappen. Problemet er at touchpad-klikk brukes ofte i mange spill, og P5Mate-knappen er upraktisk å bruke hvis man ikke sitter rett ved enheten.

Ville det være mulig å endre mappingen slik?

Back/View-knapp = Touchpad-klikk

P5Mate-knapp = Share-knapp

Dette ville gjort løsningen mye mer brukervennlig i praksis.

I tillegg finnes det andre kontrollere, som for eksempel 8BitDo Ultimate, som har en ubrukt face-knapp. Touchpad-klikk kunne eventuelt også mappes til denne typen knapp.

Takk for at dere vurderer dette. Jeg tester ofte ulike oppsett både til spilling og annen underholdning hjemme (som når jeg bytter mellom konsoll og IPTV og fleksibel mapping hadde gjort opplevelsen enda bedre.
