Ghostbusters Racers gives Monopoly GO players two reasons to watch the scoreboard: race placement and time spent in the lead. The prizes can look tempting, especially if you're close to finishing an album. First place in team mode offers a Wild Sticker and a Swap Pack, while second place comes with more sticker packs. That's a choice worth thinking about before you spend every Flag. If you're also keeping an eye on the Monopoly Go Partners Event, note that this race is the cooperative event described for the week.
Make each lead count
A quick move into first place feels good, but it doesn't always help your Hold the Lead score. Only complete minutes count. Stay ahead for 43 seconds and you get nothing; hold first for 4 minutes and 43 seconds and you earn 4 minutes. Separate short leads don't combine, either. Once a full minute is recorded, though, you keep it after another team passes you. Try agreeing on a rolling order in chat. One teammate can take the lead, while another watches the gap and rolls when it starts to shrink. You don't all need to play at once, but a little coordination can keep those minutes coming.
Save something for race three
Each championship has three races, with four players on a team and three rival teams on the track. Everyone starts with 100 Flags, and a race roll costs 20. Completing a lap earns 300 points, with lap rewards available along the way. The first two races award 10, 8, 5 and 3 championship points from first through fourth. In race three, those awards rise to 20, 16, 10 and 6. That makes a comeback possible, so don't assume the standings after two races tell the whole story. Keeping some Flags in reserve gives your team room to respond when the last race gets crowded.
Pick a prize worth pursuing
Team rewards change quite a bit by placement. Fourth offers two 1-star packs and three 2-star packs. Third moves up to three 3-star packs and four 4-star packs. Second brings four 4-star packs and six 5-star packs, while first replaces that larger haul with a Swap Pack of at least three stars and a Wild Sticker. The Wild Sticker can fill a missing slot, including a gold one. Solo rewards are smaller, so check what you need before deciding how much to spend. If you're after common stickers, a secure placement may be enough.
Keep an eye on the clock
Look for extra Flags on the board, in Quick Wins, through milestone rewards and in the free Shop gift. Unclaimed lap rewards carry into the next race, but pick them up before the event ends. The schedule lists the close as November 1 at 3:55 p.m. EST; check the in-game countdown, particularly around the US clock change.
